Yeah baby, the 8th Annual Peterson Ridge Rumble just filled up a couple hours ago, a full 5 1/2 weeks before race day! As any fellow race director knows, this is awesome!
If you want to run and you're in, thank you for registering early. If you want to run and you're not in, well...I've already accepted 330 runners and there's a 300-person limit. So, basically what I'm saying here is that there isn't a waitlist.
If enough runners drop in the next few weeks, I may open registration again for a bit, but don't count on it.
A few other options for Rumble Day:
-Volunteer at the Rumble!
-Race for the Roses 1/2 Marathon, 10k, 5k in Portland
-Mt. Si 50k / 50 mi Ultra and Relay in Snoqualmie, WA
-Whidbey Island Marathon in Oak Harbor, WA
A little course condition update:
It looks like for the first time since 2007 that the 60k will, in fact, be 60k! I ran the full Grunt loop a week and a half ago to check snow/ice conditions and it was pretty darn good. Only a little bit of the slippery stuff, which I'm pretty confident will be gone by race day. So, if you're signed up for the 60k, be prepared to go the full distance this year (or maybe even a km or two extra!).

Congrats on filling up! People must be coming to see the race director in a skirt and tank! The prize money is pretty cool too!
sean:
so happy for you! THAT IS AWESOME! You have that many people running a 30k/60k! I am sure your event will go extremely well!
I second Sean's idea to volunteer if you don't get in! it's a great way to be apart of the event and volunteers are SO vitally important. They are the glue that holds it all together and keep things running smoothly. I find it's so much BETTER if at least some of the volunteers have running experience ( they are aware of what's going on) and they are really attentive to the participants because they are treating people the in the manner they would like to be treated! ( don't you love the golden rule?)
good luck this weekend, Sean! PR this weekend!!! I'll be cheering for you! WOOO!! ( see? I'm over here, cheering already!!)
Congrats Sean, I'm really looking forward to the Rumble! Have a blast at Napa tomorrow :)
What happened at Napa?
JC,
I exploded! Solid running through 19, pretty good through 22, rough to 23, then slow jogging the last 3.2, as in 8:30-9 min/pace slow. It hurt.
I never felt great or really in my groove at all any part of the race, so I was pretty surprised to be on pace as long as I was. My heart rate and effort both just seemed to be too high for the pace I was running; well, until the explosion when my h.r. plummeted.
Beautiful day and great course - definitely a p.r.able-type day. Just not for me.
Hey I didn't pay for any more "K's". Don't you be sliding another 10 or so on this old fat guy! Congrats on the sell out.
Our luck March and April will be wet and cold and we will end up with snow again.
Congrats Sean! Having the race (over)fill is awesome!
can't wait to hang out sean! it's coming right up.
the race will be a blur of me trying to pretend i have leg speed. pain cave anyone?
Just visited Bend this past weekend for the first time and fell in love. I immediately looked up races in the area and was excited when I saw this one on the calendar...then bummed it was already full. I'll keep my eyes open for next year.
Hart, you can only run the Rumble if you adhere to this one stipulation: wear your hydration pack with no shirt under it - just like your profile shot. The pained look on your face will come naturally.
Hi Sean,
Late comment here, but wanted to say thanks for a great 2010 Rumble. My first one and I loved every minute! I'd also like to say that your decision to serve chicken & black bean burritos instead of burgers & hotdogs was hands-down the best RD decision ever. Please repeat for next year!
Dan
we know the Rumble is Full, now what?
We're all waiting for the next chapter.....
