The 7th Annual Peterson Ridge Rumble 30k/60k is this Sunday, April 5, in Sisters, OR. This is my baby. I founded it in 2003 as a 17 mile run on the Peterson Ridge trails near Sisters. That first year, there were 30 people and 6 dogs. In 2004, I added an ultra distance (35 miles at the time). Now there are two distances, 60ish km and 30ish km, 300+ people and 40 dogs. I love that kind of evolution!
Also this weekend is the American River 50 miler. As usual, there will be lots of people running it - slow, fast, and everywhere in between, just lots of runners! I'm going to make a prediction and say both the female and male champions will be from Bend. But only one of those will then toe the line in Squaw.
Are you ready to Rumble?!

I want to throw in a prediciton for AR 50. If Jasper is healthy, I think he will win and watch out for Chikara. His time at Jed will transfer well to this course if he has the legs for the 50 mile distance. Otherwise, Hal will be tough to beat.
Jon,
I'm not talking about Hal - he's from Ashland. The guy I'm talking about will be making his 50m debut. Not too many in the ultra world outside of Oregon know about him...yet.
Sean, sorry, I won't be making it to Rumble this year. Single mommying, couldn't find sitter. Have fun, I'll miss the views and the crowd!
Umm, the guy from Bend Sean's talking about is Max King. I think mackey and barr will try to keep him from doing winning. And Skaden and Hal will be trying to keep another fast guy out of the dance.
Parr, King, Mackey. In that order. It's gonna be blazin' fast.
Olmstead might be up there in top three.
Sean....I'm a wuss. Got a gimpy leg. Can you post pone the race for a couple weeks? I don't think most would mind?
